WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
Before I start rabbiting on I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to our men and women who fought so bravely, paying the ultimate sacrifice so we may live in freedom and peace.
We also remember the men and women who returned from the wars and those that are still fighting to ensure our freedom. LEST WE FORGET
Lunch at the Ivory Hotel
What a great roll up. Twenty six of us enjoyed the great food and beautiful ambiance of the Ivory Hotel Tweed Heads. If you have not been before it is well worth the effort. Meals are $10 and snacks $7 with a good variety to choose from.
Our St Patrick’s Day picnic at Cudgen Creek was washed out so we ended up back at the Ivory for
another yummy lunch.
What a great day for bush walking at Mt Tamborine. The wind blew, it poured rain and the mist was so thick you could hardly see. Did that stop six of us from turning up on the day? Eternal optimists I think!
We ended up spending most of the day in the coffee shop, however some did venture out in the rain to check out the local wares. Even in the rain Tamborine is beautiful so will not be long before we re-schedule a date for the walk. Jo won the joke of the day with her Maxwell Smart phone impersonation.
COAST CONNECTIONS AGM
We cannot continue to run without having an AGM. This is your club. Your involvement and support is vital to the survival of our club. To-date Kim Mead has expressed her interest as continuing as club Treasurer and if no one else comes forward I will nominate to continue as president. Come on girls it’s not hard. We need a Club secretary. The only requirements are you attend once a month meetings and have reasonable computer skills.
REMEMBER
You do not have to be on the committee to help out.
How often have you made the comment” gee I wish we had more events like ??????”
Do you have an idea for an event? If you do put your hand up and be the events co-ordinate for that event. It’s not hard and your committee will be there to help and provide the necessary advertising in the newsletter and flyers to ensure the best possible result for your event. By doing this it will ensure lots of variety for future events.
AGM DATE ; SATURDAY 5th JUNE 2010

At Ballina turn right onto Pacific highway, follow that for about 5mins and look for the big prawn (if it is still there) on your right hand side. 300m past the big prawn you turn left into Burns Point Ferry Road. This takes you to the river ferry crossing, which cost $4.00 per car. Once off the ferry take the first turn left(200m from ferry) The Park is the second one along approx 4.4 km.
